Job summary

Oxford Learning Aurora is seeking a part-time French teacher/tutor to work with up to three students at a time. The role is in-person in Aurora and requires commute ability. The program provides curriculum; no lesson planning is needed, and after-school/evening hours apply, including some Saturdays.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, tutoring experience, and French proficiency. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory and relocation is not offered.

  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 French core curriculum

French Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Are you a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic French speaker? Join the team at Oxford Learning Auroraas a part-time French teacher/tutor/coach. Ignite your passion for helping students succeed – en français!

We teach students HOW to learn French. We help students improve their academic and study skills in a small group setting. We have a lot of fun! Our class sizes are small with a maximum of three students per teacher. We provide all of the curriculum and lessons. Teachers do not need to lesson plan. Our teachers explain and guide students through the provided material and help students talk about their understanding.

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours(3:00pm - 8:00pm)as well as some Saturdays (10:00am - 3:00pm). A commitment until the end of theschool yearis preferred.Continuing through the summer is even better.Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered

Experience:
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

  • Teaching online and in-person

  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
