Job summary

Ottawa Jewish Community School is seeking a full-time French Studies teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The candidate will deliver immersive instruction in French, develop lessons from the curriculum, and use technology to support learning.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff, differentiation for diverse learners, alignment with IEP recommendations, and a commitment to professional growth and student well-being, including a respectful classroom environment and engagement in school

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and Bachelor of Education (or equivalent) required.
• 3+ years’ teaching experience preferred.
• Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification is an asset.
• Preferred concentration in French as a Second Language; Master of Education asset.
• Master of Education asset or related credential an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop, prepare, and implement lesson plans based on the curriculum.

Job description

We are currently seeking a full-time (1.0) French Studies teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. The candidate we move forward with will:

• Be fluent in French (oral and written communication) and be committed to providing an immersive classroom setting;
• Develop, prepare, and implement lesson plans based on the curriculum;
• Utilize best instructional practices, methods, materials and technology;
• Collaborate with other faculty members and administrative staff in planning and
• implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods;
• Prepare lessons that reflect differentiation for individual student needs and
• implement the recommendations from assessments featured in Individual Education Plans;
• Be a positive role model for students reflective of the mission of the school;
• Participate actively and meaningfully in Professional Development opportunities
• and be committed to professional growth;
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the
• physical, social, and emotional development of students;
• Connect with and engage in student life
• Support student behaviour in alignment with the school philosophy.

Position: Full-timeSalary Range: $54,843 - $106,462 annually; Commensurate with Education and Experience
