Job summary

Oxford Learning Winnipeg is seeking a part-time French teacher/tutor to join our after-school team in Winnipeg. You will teach up to three students at a time in-person, following our established methodologies and providing all curriculum materials.

Role requires impeccable French, a relevant degree, and the ability to guide student understanding. Evening hours with some Saturdays, and a commitment through the school year, are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
• Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level.
• Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
• Impeccable spoken and written French.

Responsibilities

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
• Teaching in-person.
• Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Filling in post-lesson notes.
• Completing daily student communication updates.

Are you a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic French speaker? Join the team at Oxford Learning Winnipeg as a part-time French teacher/tutor/coach. Ignite your passion for helping students succeed – en français!

We teach students HOW to learn French. We help students improve their academic and study skills in a small group setting. We have a lot of fun! Our class sizes are small with a maximum of three students per teacher. We provide all of the curriculum and lessons. Teachers do not need to lesson plan. Our teachers explain and guide students through the provided material and help students talk about their understanding.

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours(4:00pm - 8:00pm)as well as some Saturdays (9:00am - 4:00pm). A commitment until the end of theschool yearis preferred.Continuing through the summer is even better.Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must. Candidates must possess impeccable spoken and written French. The candidate is required to instruct class sessions in French.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• University students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset

Experience:

• Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
• GoodEnglish written and oral communication skills
• Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
