Grade 5 – Starting Range $52,250 - $55,500

SUMMARY

The Freight Coordinator at Keilhauer plays a pivotal role within the Customer Service department, acting as the primary contact for all outbound freight logistics and transportation activities. Key responsibilities include maintaining thorough shipment documentation, monitoring freight costs to identify savings opportunities, and supporting departmental goals through process improvements and special projects. This role also requires ensuring compliance with transportation and shipping regulations, maintaining accurate tariff codes, and developing best practices for freight management and customer service.

The Freight Coordinator collaborates with internal teams, external vendors, customs brokers, and customers to arrange shipments, track deliveries and resolve freight-related issues such as delays, damage or discrepancies with professionalism and attention to detail. The role is integral in maintaining Keilhauer’s reputation for reliability, quality and customer satisfaction.

This position demands a highly organized and proactive individual who can manage shipments from origin to destination, ensuring they meet company standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. The Freight Coordinator excels in communication, problem-solving, and organization, supporting Keilhauer’s mission to make work comfortable for all by facilitating smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment; freight coordination, logistics, supply chain or customer service is preferred.
  • Post-Secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and other technical programs; previous experience using SyteLine or similar ERP is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Growth mindset to learn about Keilhauer product offerings as related to shipping logistics and tariff classification.
WORKING CONDITIONS

This role is performed primarily in an office environment which is typically quiet. Most of your duties will be fulfilled with the use of a computer and office equipment, with communication taking place by phone, email or in person. Some functions of your role will be conducted in the manufacturing facility, where you may be exposed to dust particulates and noise.

  • This position requires long periods of focused reading and typing.
  • Must be able to multi-task and handle frequent interruptions to planned work activities.
  • Must be able to respond and adapt quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Must be able to use critical thinking to assess situations and determine appropriate solutions.
