YOUR ROLE

Responsible for reviewing, validating, and reconciling freight invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements. This role plays a critical part in controlling transportation costs, preventing overcharges, and maintaining strong relationships with carriers and internal stakeholders. Ensure accurate and timely account processing to maximize margin and revenue. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
  • Audit freight invoices against contracts, rate agreements, and shipment data.
  • Identify discrepancies such as incorrect rates, accessorial charges, or duplicate billing.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer service with internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate rating, auditing and billing functions.
  • Collaborate with carriers to resolve billing issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms and service levels.
  • Maintain accurate records of freight costs and variances.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports on freight spend and audit findings.
  • Research and resolve data entry problems.
  • Correct billing errors.
  • Manifest charter bills.
  • Update customer lists.
  • Ensure data entry staff is familiar with current policies and procedures.
  • Enter bills by service level.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education & Experience
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 2+ years in freight audit, transportation finance, or logistics operations.
  • Familiarity with trucking and logistics industry practices.
  • Minimum one year industry experience.
Preferred
  • Knowledge of TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and ERP platforms.
  • Experience with LTL, FTL, and international freight billing.
Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and freight audit software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications. Accurate typing and data entry skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of U.S. or international currency, weight, volume and distance measurements.
  • Communication skills include responding promptly and professionally to customer needs, communicating and interacting effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds and effectively presenting information and responding to questions from management, employees and vendors.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities and identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
