Job summary

Sadfish, a leading 2D animation studio, is seeking a talented freelance storyboard artist for an exciting 10-minute project starting in June 2025. You will create engaging storyboards while collaborating closely with the Animation Director to ensure the creative vision is met. Strong skills in sketching, framing, and knowledge of Toon Boom Storyboard Pro and Adobe Photoshop are essential to visualize the project effectively.

Qualifications

• Experience for 2-3 years as a Storyboard Artist in the animation industry.
• Extensive knowledge of Toon Boom Storyboard Pro and Adobe Photoshop.

Job description

We're a 2D animation studio looking for a skilled freelance storyboard artist to help us bring a 10-minute project to life. As a Storyboard Artist at our studio, you will be responsible for the storyboards and animatics; reporting to the Animation Director you will produce storyboards in accordance with the aesthetic and creative aspects of any given project, while respecting the established deadlines.

Project Details:

• Type: Freelance / Remote
• Length: 10 minutes of animatic (with rough poses, camera, and timing)
• To start June 2025
• Please note, you'd be responsible for providing your own hardware and software
  
  
  

Requirements

• Read and understand scripts for clients
• Storyboard the scripts as written, implementing any notes given by the Director or Lead
• Create fun and creative storytelling
• Work in a timely fashion, making sure the various deadlines are met
  
  

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Storyboard Artist for at least 2-3 years in the animation industry
• Extensive knowledge of Toon Boom Storyboard Pro/ Adobe Photoshop
• Clear quick sketching and strong drawing skills
• Strong sense of framing and image composition
• Experience working as an animator is a plus
