Job summary

Horizon Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse Class A (RNCA) for the Fredericton area to provide post-operative assessment and care in the PACU. You will join an interdisciplinary team and deliver nursing care in accordance with program policies and standards.

The role requires CNNB registration, two years PACU or adult critical care experience, and current BCMI, CVAD, Electrical Therapy Modules, and Arterial Lines certifications; extubation training within two months is required.

JOB PURPOSE

As a member of an interdisciplinary team, provides quality post-operative assessment and care for patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within the scope of professional nursing practice and in accordance with the policies, procedures, and standards of the Surgical Program.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have current College of Nursing of New Brunswick (CNNB) registration, or eligible for such registration.
• Applicants must also have at least two (2) years of recent PACU or Adult Critical Care experience.
• Current certification in the following: BCMI, CVAD, Electrical Therapy Modules 1, 2 and 3 and Arterial Lines
• Must become certified in extubating within 2 months of hire.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in advanced airway management.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, as assigned, including weekends and holidays throughout the year.
• Must be available within thirty (30) minutes when on-call.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
