Overview

Job Description

In Q4 2023, Intel announced Altera will be reported as a separate business unit beginning on January 1, 2024, with ongoing support from Intel. This position is associated to that standalone business strategy and is expected to fully transition to a standalone company at some time in the future.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the charge in the conceptualization and implementation of a cutting-edge modular code architecture, setting the stage for a more robust, scalable, and maintainable codebase.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze existing coding frameworks, identifying areas for enhancement and integration of best practices in modularity.
  • Design and develop sophisticated APIs that appropriately work with both API users and the existing backend technology.
  • Employ an inventive approach to refactor and restructure existing code, ensuring that code is optimized for performance, reusability, and coherence.
  • Be prepared to move quickly and take on risk.
  • Experience working in a modern large scale modular code base.
  • Proficiency in data structures and algorithms, with a particular focus on graph theory and its application in electronic design automation (EDA) tools.
  • Experience in creating long lived APIs, network protocols or file formats.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software development.
  • C++ programming in a Linux / Unix environment.
  • Master\'s degree or higher is preferred.
  • Experience with scripting languages preferable Python or TCL.
  • Experience working in a modern large scale modular code base.
  • Experience with data structures and algorithms, with a particular focus on graph theory and its application in electronic design automation (EDA) tools.
  • Experience in creating long lived APIs, network protocols or file formats.
  • Experience with either Altera Quartus, or Xilinx Vivado.
  • DB systems and how they are used to store netlists, and other EDA metadata.
  • FPGA, or ASIC development design flow and how it contrasts with regular SW development.
  • 2+ years of experience with FPGA code base.
