In Q4 2023, Intel® announced Altera will be reported as a separate business unit beginning on January 1, 2024, with ongoing support from Intel®. This position is associated to that standalone business strategy and is expected to fully transition to a standalone company at some time in the future.

The candidate will be a member of the Tools and Modeling team in the Programmable Solutions and Software division of Intel®. In this role you will research, design, develop, and optimize software tools that enable the use of FPGA. The successful candidate will have a great opportunity to be exposed to new and exciting initiatives that will make our software easiest to use in the industry and scale across multiple generations of processor families.

You will join a highly experienced software development team and contribute to create the world's most advanced technologies that power cloud computing, networking / wireless and Internet. In this role, the candidate will provide the following but not limited to:

Responsibilities
  • Researches, designs, develops, and optimizes software tools that enable the use of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA).
  • Develops and optimizes compilers, flows, assemblers, models, tools, runtimes, and / or firmware that are closely coupled to FPGA silicon, IP, and boards, while leveraging strong knowledge of FPGA hardware, logic design, board design, semiconductor devices, and chip layout.
  • Designs, develops, and optimizes software abstractions and frameworks for acceleration with the FPGA for domains such as deep learning, DSP algorithms, or data analytics.
  • Responds to customer / client requests or events as they occur.
Qualifications

Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork / classes / research and / or relevant previous job and / or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field with 1+ years of experience or master’s degree in related field
  • 1+ years of experience in C / C++ and / or Python.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Course or experience in Digital Logic.
