Job summary

Tyce is building AI-enabled construction planning tools in Toronto. We’re solving high-cost, slow-build challenges by delivering scalable APIs, data models, and integrations for multi-million-dollar projects with an emphasis on security and reliability.

We’re hiring engineers who can own end-to-end backend systems, collaborate with frontend work in React/TypeScript, and help define architecture alongside founders. Competitive salary and equity are offered.

Responsibilities

• Own the APIs, data model, integrations, and systems end-to-end.
• Build core backend systems in FastAPI + PostgreSQL; APIs, auth, org/permissions.
• Drop into the frontend (React / TypeScript) when needed.
• Ship new features day-to-day and make architectural decisions with the founders.

What You'll Do

You'll own the backbone: the APIs, data model, integrations, and systems that everything else stands on. A true generalist who's happiest owning a problem end-to-end.

• Build core backend systems in FastAPI + PostgreSQL - APIs, data model, auth, org/permissions.


• Handle the but critical parts: security, multi-tenancy, reliability, observability.


• Drop into the frontend (React / TypeScript) whenever the product needs it.


• Ship new features day-to-day alongside the founders and make real architectural decisions.

We're on a modern, lean stack: React Router framework, TypeScript, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Pydantic-AI, Logfire, AWS.

Required Qualifications

• Mid-to-senior level of engineering experience.


• Expert in Python; strong in TypeScript / React.
