Job description

Requisition ID: 238422

Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

As an Aqueduct Foundations Manager, you play a pivotal role within the Foundation Services team, delivering personalized donor service and strategic philanthropic guidance. You will work closely with a diverse network of professional advisors to support donors in planning and executing their annual contributions in alignment with their charitable goals.

As part of a nimble and innovative team, you will deepen donor relationships by offering expert support in establishing and managing foundations, facilitating contribution planning, and overseeing grantmaking processes. You’ll act as a trusted liaison between donors and their advisory teams, ensuring contributions are thoughtfully structured, well-documented, and aligned with both donor intent and regulatory requirements.

In addition, you will play a key role in guiding donors through the grantmaking lifecycle—from reviewing grant proposals and assessing charitable organizations to ensuring grants are aligned with donor values and intended impact. By facilitating thoughtful and strategic giving, you will help donors achieve meaningful outcomes in the communities and causes they care about most.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
  • Deliver tailored foundation services to a range of internal partners across the Scotia Wealth Management and external partners.
  • Assist in the effective management of donor relationships, delivering the highest standard of personalized service.
  • Manage a national book of donors, supporting their philanthropic goals through Aqueduct Foundation.
  • Liaise with affluent and influential clientele with professionalism, poise, and discretion.
  • Collaborate with donors and their advisors to support and facilitate annual contributions and strategic giving.
  • Ensure donor intent is accurately documented, and funds are properly designated.
  • Identify strategic funding opportunities aligned with donor interests and community needs including reviewing or creating grant proposals/agreements.
  • Beyond managing your donor portfolio, you will contribute to organizational priorities by applying your expertise to cross‑functional projects, helping shape team direction, and supporting initiatives that benefit the entire organization.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
  • Post‑secondary, degree or diploma.
  • Fluency in both English and French required for this position.
  • 3-5 years professional experience, preferably in the financial or charitable sector and with expertise in donor/client relations, fund/cash management, estate planning experience and/or trust/estate administration.
  • Exceptional donor service skills and a passion for helping others achieve impact.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks independently.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on overall process improvement.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & ability to utilize donor management databases.
  • Working knowledge of the investment industry and charitable sector.
  • Ability to work well in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced environment.

Pursuant to a language needs assessment conducted by Scotiabank, the successful candidate will be required to be able to communicate in English in addition to French because they will be required to work closely with other groups from head office who operate primarily in English and they will serve an English‑speaking clientele.
