Job summary

Doppel is building the AI-native social engineering defense platform to protect executives and brands from phishing and fraud. The Forward Deployed Engineering team leads onboarding for enterprise customers, defining technical directions, and delivering end-to-end integrations with Doppel’s core offerings.

You will work closely with GTM and Product to scope needs, prioritize solutions, and drive scalable deployments while remaining hands-on with complex integrations and strategic deployments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building and shipping production software.
• Experience leading engineers and projects while staying hands-on.
• Experience with enterprise APIs, identity, and security platforms is a plus.

• Lead Forward Deployed Engineering technically, setting direction and mentoring engineers.

This means we’re designing scalable systems that monitor billions of domains, social media accounts, apps, dark web forums, etc., and leverage AI agents to identify and neutralize digital threats.

What You’ll Do

Doppel’s Forward Deployed Engineering team owns the onboarding of our biggest enterprise customers as effective and low touch as possible

You’ll work directly with our largest enterprise customers alongside GTM and Product to understand their onboarding needs, scope and prioritize technical solutions, and build the end-to-end systems that get customers integrated with Doppel’s core offerings. You’ll lead the technical direction of the whole FDE team while staying hands-on with our hardest integrations and most strategic deployments.

As Doppel’s customer base and product portfolio expand, you’ll help turn what we learn in the field into reusable capabilities that make every future deployment faster and easier.

• Lead FDE technically. Set technical direction, mentor engineers, unblock complex projects, and raise the engineering bar while remaining hands-on.
• Own our most strategic deployments. Join customers from technical discovery through production rollout, identifying onboarding friction, scoping solutions, and driving the engineering work required to get them live.
• Build end-to-end solutions. Architect, build, and debug across APIs, webhooks, SIEM/SOAR platforms, identity systems, email infrastructure, and the broader enterprise security stack.
• Turn field work into product. Identify patterns across customer deployments and turn bespoke solutions into reusable product and platform capabilities.
• Make deployment increasingly scalable. Build the systems, automation, and internal tooling that make every new customer faster and easier to launch than the last.
• Shape the product from the field. Create a tight feedback loop between customers, GTM, Product, and Engineering so what we’re learning from our largest customers influences what we build.
• Help shape FDE’s technical boundaries. Develop strong judgment around what FDE should build, what should graduate into core product or platform, and where FDE should partner with other engineering teams.

What we’re looking for

• Strong software engineering foundation. 6+ years building and shipping production software, with the technical depth to make architecture decisions and contribute directly to the codebase.
• Technical leadership experience. You’ve set technical direction, mentored engineers, and driven complex projects while remaining hands-on.
• Customer-facing technical depth. You’ve worked directly with complex enterprise customers, can uncover technical needs, and can turn ambiguous problems into scoped production systems.
• Experience with enterprise systems. You’re comfortable working across APIs, webhooks, identity and authentication (OAuth, SAML, SCIM), and enterprise infrastructure. Experience with security platforms or SIEM/SOAR ecosystems is a plus.
• Product instincts. You recognize patterns across customer needs and know when something should remain customer‑specific versus becoming a reusable product or platform capability.
• High agency in ambiguity. You cut through organizational and technical blockers to get things done. You figure out who to pull in across Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering, chase down missing context, and create the connections and processes needed to move customer problems from ambiguity to production.
• Strong technical judgment and communication. You can move comfortably between a customer call, system design, debugging with an engineer, and working with Product on what should be built next.
• AI-native mindset. Experience building with LLMs, agents, or AI‑powered workflows is a plus, but we’re most interested in engineers who are excited to use AI to change how technical customer work gets done.
