Job description

The Forklift Operator is responsible for performing material handling, clean-up, and packaging and other elemental activities related to Warehouse & Distribution requirements.

The facility use various forklifts such as the Raymond Reach, the Crown Reach and counterbalance to machinery to move items, and materials on and off trucks and loading docks.

Starting Salary: $24.72/hour

Schedule: Day or Afternoon available

Functions & Responsibilities

1. Perform daily pre-shift inspections of assigned lifting equipment and report any hazards
2. Follow all applicable occupational health and safety and food safety procedures
3. Ensure proper protective equipment (PPE) is always worn while working
4. Operates warehouse material handling equipment in a safe manner
5. Load, unload containers or trucks and move products and materials by hand or using counterbalance forklift, reach truck and/or basic material handling equipment
6. Move product onto and off moving trucks, stages finished product, completes relevant paperwork
7. Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and or material storage area

Qualifications

1. Minimum of 1 years driving a Forklift on either Raymond or Crown Reach
2. Knowledge of Automated Shipping Systems / RF Technology
3. Strong communication skills including the ability to work independently or within a team environment
4. Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting – up to 35lbs
