Job summary

Slegg Building Materials - Saanichton is seeking a motivated Forklift Operator to safely prepare loads and unload building materials in our Saanichton warehouse. You will work with the team to meet customer expectations and operate lift trucks per safety standards.

The role requires a valid propane forklift certification and at least two years of experience, plus good communication and math skills. Shifts are Monday through Friday, with a pay range of CAD 20.77–24.09 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift certification (propane).

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required forms.
• Ensure forklift maintenance and servicing requirements are met.
• Build orders to required specifications for delivery.
• Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner.
• Check load contents for accuracy and secure materials.
• Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule and according to specific instructions by management to meet customer demands.
• Maintain contact with supervisors and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.

Position Summary

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Forklift Operator. The Forklift Operator prepares loads and unloads building materials in the warehouse through the safe operation of a lift truck. Together with other team members, the Forklift Operator works to exceed customer expectations. The wage range is $22 - $26.75 per hour (Tier 1; $22 - $24, Tier 2; $24 - $26.75). The shifts are Monday - Friday.
