Job summary

Hampton Lumber seeks a Forestry Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and supervise forest operations across our sawmills. You will manage contractors, budgets, and compliance, delivering fibre safely and cost-effectively while interfacing with government agencies, Indigenous communities, and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Eligible for RPF/RFT registration or equivalent in the relevant province.
  • Minimum 2 years of forest operations, woodlands management, or harvest supervision.
  • Self-motivated team player with ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Experience in forest-based industries, preferably supplying to sawmills.
  • Experience in contract management, budgeting, cost control, and supervision.

Responsibilities

Type: Full-time, permanent (with field & office work)

Proposed Salary Range: CAD $85,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on location, experience, and responsibilities. A comprehensive benefit package (medical, dental, paid vacation, pension) is also provided.

Position Summary

The Forestry Supervisor plans, coordinates, supervises, and executes forest operations and support functions for our sawmills. You will manage contractors, personnel, budgets, and compliance obligations to deliver fibre to your sawmills in a safe, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective manner. You will serve as an interface with Government agencies, Indigenous communities, local stakeholders, and internal departments (e.g. procurement, planning, mill logistics).

Your scope and key responsibilities include oversight of road and bridge construction and maintenance, cut block development, harvesting operations, and quality control of delivered logs. You will also monitor performance, costs, and drive continuous improvement in wood supply operations.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Forest Technologist (RFT), or equivalent registration in the relevant province, or eligible for registration.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in forest operations, woodlands management, or harvest supervision
  • Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience working in forest-based industries, preferably supplying to sawmills.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract management, budgeting, cost control, and operational supervision.
