Abbotsford School District is seeking a Foreman-HVAC to oversee maintenance, inspections, and installations of district HVAC systems. You will supervise a team of HVAC mechanics, coordinate projects, and ensure safety and quality standards.
The role requires a BC HVAC/Refrigeration or Gas B certification, 5+ years in the field including supervisory experience, and a valid BC driver’s license. Extended health and dental benefits and a pension plan are provided.

This unionized position is a 12-month, continuing position based out of our Facilities building at 31759 King Road. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This position is eligible to participate in the Extended Health & Dental Plan, as well as pension contributions to the Municipal Pension Plan.
Under the general direction of the Manager-Mechanical, the Foreman-HVAC, provides direction and support to HVAC mechanics.
This position establishes, coordinates and/or performs a diverse range of HVAC activities including providing technical support and training to other trades and district staff. This position is responsible for supervising and conducting the repair, maintenance, inspection and installation of HVAC activities.
This position provides supervisory leadership to the HVAC mechanics in the form of coordinating the work of and providing training and coaching. This position is responsible for decision making, determining work projects, preventative maintenance and providing estimates, advice and assistance related to HVAC.
The work involves the performance of a variety of complex tasks under limited supervision in accordance with limited access to established procedures. This position requires current and proficient knowledge in the field. A high level of judgment is exercised in handling assignments and determining new work methods.
Grade 12 diploma, or equivalent, supplemented by a current British Columbia or Interprovincial Trades Qualification in HVAC and/or Refrigeration or Gas B Certification. A minimum of 5 years related experience in the field, including 2 years in a supervisory position; and successful completion of a Supervisory Skills credit course; A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
