Manager Hospitality Guest Services

Reporting to the Director, PRC Enterprise Services, the Manager, Hospitality & Guest Services is responsible for the operational management of the City’s hospitality venues and guest-service portfolio, including restaurants, cafés, banquet halls, event facilities, and catering services.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure high‑quality guest experiences and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Provide staff leadership and effectively generate revenue within hospitality service lines.
  • Participate in implementing short‑ and long‑term plans, programs and policies to meet Council and customer needs.
  • Prepare operational strategies and readiness plans for potential expansion.
  • Ensure cost controls and efficient use of resources.
  • Oversee menu planning, product offerings and promotions to maximize customer satisfaction and revenue.
  • Work with suppliers to evaluate new products and ensure pricing and development align with budgetary and customer needs.
  • Manage inventory systems; evaluate reports on stock usage, wastage and shrinkage; ensure cost‑effective procurement.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with staff, the public, suppliers, user and community groups.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and resolve workplace issues.
  • Represent the division as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management or executive experience in hospitality and guest services, ideally across multiple service lines.
  • Extensive knowledge of policies, rules, practices, and procedures in guest services, hospitality, and food service management.
  • Competency in inventory control, cost pricing, health standards and regulations for food and beverage service.
  • Experience in budget preparation, management and monitoring.
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia.
  • Skill in the use of various software applications.
  • Management level experience in hotel operations is an asset.
