The Food Service Worker 1 assists in the overall operations of the Students’ Union’s coffee shop, Daily Grind, which is located in the Students' Union Building on the U of A's North Campus.

We are currently hiring for the following positions:

  • Casual positions, working 2-4 shifts per week (early mornings [7am], afternoons, evenings and weekends).

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Prepare coffees (including speciality) and serve muffins, cookies, scones and other food products in a food safe manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, staff and public clients in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Ensure safe storage, sanitation and cleanliness of all areas and supplies.
  • Serve as cashier as required.
  • Assist with storage and inventory of food products in a timely manner.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as required by management.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
  • Provincially‑recognized food safety certification is an asset.
  • Related industry experience is an asset.
  • Conscientious work habits, appearance and personal hygiene.
  • Excellent customer service skills including knowledge of food quality standards.
  • Minimum Alberta Grade 12, or equivalent.
