Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is hiring a Food Service Worker in Mississauga. You will carry pans and trays, store and rotate food, and set up daily items for purchase while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

The role involves serving customers, following recipes, and ensuring temperatures meet quality guidelines. The job requires ability to work independently or in a team, strong English communication, and physical stamina.

Qualifications

  • Completion of online training required.
  • Cash register familiarity is an asset.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to handle heavy workloads.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Good command of English, verbal and written, and ability to follow written/verbal instructions.
  • Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is an asset.
  • Physical ability to perform duties.
  • Driving needed as units may vary in Mississauga.

Responsibilities

  • Carry pans and trays to and from work stations.
  • Store food in designated areas with proper wrapping, dating, safety and rotation.
  • Set up items for purchase daily.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks; dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
  • Follow approved recipes and production standards for quality and portions; notify cooks if temperatures are unsafe.
  • Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.

  • Store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
  • Set up items for purchase on daily basis.
  • Perform general cleaning duties; dishes and sanitizing surfaces
  • Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
  • Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control. Notify cooks if food temperatures are not within acceptable limits.
  • Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
  • Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
