Job summary

A leading care provider in Ontario is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee dietary services for residents. Key responsibilities include planning meals, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining compliance with health regulations. Ideal candidates will have completed a recognized program in Food Services, possess dietary management experience, and have strong organizational and communication skills. This is a part-time, permanent role.

Qualifications

  • Completed a recognized Food Services and Nutrition Management program.
  • Two or more years of Dietary Management experience in a long-term care setting.
  • Current membership in C.S.N.M. or as a Registered Dietician.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute dietary services for residents.
  • Maintain quality standards ensuring compliance with health regulations.
  • Encourage teamwork and train coworkers.

Position: Food Service Supervisor

Duration: Permanent, Part-time

A department that truly helps everyone in our home, our Food Services department ensures that our residents are provided with nutritious and delicious meals to keep them energized and ready for each day. As a pivotal member to this team, you will prepare the meals that sustain our residents! Are you ready to get started?

Responsibilities
  • Provide amazing dietary services to the residents of the home by planning, organizing and executing tasks in a timely manner.
  • Maintain proper quality standards by examining dietary requirements and food production operations, ensuring excellent services provided as per legislative requirements.
  • Encourage teamwork, and assist in collaborating team operations by motivating, encouraging and training coworkers and staff.
  • Handle audit of kitchen standards ensuring compliance with public health requirements.
  • Maintain proper records of inventory, menu management ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Build and maintain rapport with residents, families, staff and other stakeholders to regulate workplace operations smoothly.
  • Assist management by contributing to preparing budget including departmental budget.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Post-secondary education and successful completion of a recognized Food Services and Nutrition Management or relevant program.
  • Two or more years of Dietary Management in long-term care setting.
  • Current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management (C.S.N.M.) or a Registered Dietician.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong leadership experience and skills preferred but not mandatory.
