Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a cafeteria supervisor to oversee daily operations, lead and motivate staff, ensure meals meet quality and presentation standards, and provide excellent service to students and staff.

You will monitor food safety, manage inventory and costs, handle cash, and ensure the cafeteria, kitchen, and storage areas are clean and well-organized, while adhering to all policies.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading a cafeteria or food-service team.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and portion control.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Oversee day-to-day operation of the cafeteria.
  • Supervise, support, and motivate cafeteria staff.
  • Ensure food is prepared, served, and presented to standards.
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service to students and staff.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and safety standards.
  • Manage cash handling and ensure accurate procedures.
  • Monitor inventory and place orders as required.
  • Maintain food and labour costs within budget.

Job description

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the cafeteria.
  • Supervise, support, and motivate cafeteria staff.
  • Ensure food is prepared, served, and presented according to company standards.
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service to students and staff.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and food safety standards.
  • Complete daily cash handling and ensure accurate cash procedures are followed.
  • Monitor inventory and place orders as required.
  • Maintain appropriate food and labour costs.
  • Ensure the cafeteria, kitchen, equipment, and storage areas are clean, organized, and maintained.
  • Follow all company, health and safety, and Board policies and procedures.
  • Assist with scheduling and staff coverage as needed.
  • Address day-to-day operational issues and communicate concerns to the Operations Manager.
  • Build positive relationships with school staff, students, and the school community.
