Education:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Tasks:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
- Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Estimate ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
- Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage
- Establish work schedules
Experience:
- 1 year to less than 2 years
Support for newcomers and refugees:
- Assist with immediate settlement needs (e.g., housing, transportation, childcare, winter clothing)
- Support social and labour market integration (e.g., access to community resources, language and skills training)
Support for Indigenous people:
- Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers
- Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations
- Provide cultural competency and awareness training to create a welcoming environment for Indigenous workers
