Duties
  • Assist in food preparation independently or as part of a team.
  • Operate cash registers/Point of Sale Terminals to collect meal charges.
  • Assist in receiving, unloading, and storage of food items.
  • Clean and maintain food service facilities.
Essential Experience
  • Experience working as part of a team (formal or informal). Provide examples from work, volunteering, school, or community.
Asset Experience
  • Food service environment experience.
  • Experience in food preparation, storage, sanitation, or food safety practices.
  • Experience operating a Point of Sale Terminal or performing cashier duties.
  • Experience in supervision.
  • Experience in a mixed civilian and military environment.
Asset Occupational Certification
  • Valid recognized food safety certificate applicable to the location.
Language Requirements
  • English essential.
  • English or French essential.

Abilities
  • Follow food safety procedures.

Operational Requirements
  • Willing and able to work overtime on short notice.
  • Willing and able to do shift work, including weekends and holidays.
  • Willing and able to lift, push, pull, and carry 20 kg.
  • Willing and able to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Willing and able to wear and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Willing and able to complete a valid food safety program (location specific).
  • Adhere to the Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces Code of Values and Ethics, and related directives.
Conditions of Employment

Reliability status security clearance is required. An oath will be administered for appointments from outside the public service.
