Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a Food Service Worker in Bowmanville to prepare, present, and serve meals while upholding food safety and quality standards. You will perform prep work, equipment transport, item setup, and daily cleaning to maintain a safe, inviting dining experience.

The role requires FoodSafe Level 1 Certification, strong English communication, and the ability to manage a heavy workload both independently and in a team.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification required.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to handle heavy workload.

Responsibilities

• Perform prep work: wash, peel, cut and seed fruits and vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays to and from work stations, stove and fridge following safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas with proper wrapping, dating and rotation procedures.
• Set up items for purchase on a daily basis.
• Perform general cleaning; remove trash to designated areas.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Follow approved recipes and production standards to ensure quality and correct portions; notify cooks if temperatures are out of range.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following service steps.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay information to supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.

• Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
