Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician - Regina, SK

AGT Foods Canada, one of the world’s largest suppliers of value-added pulses, staple foods, and food ingredients, has opened an extrusion facility in Regina, SK. The facility develops and produces semifinished food products to be used in pastas, plant-based burgers and other in finished food products.

We have an immediate need for a Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician to join our team at our Regina, SK Extrusion Facility.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of food production facilities to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards
  • Perform and document quality assurance activities, including testing, checks, and inspection results
  • Perform wide range analyses on extruded products
  • Perform EMP testing
  • Work according to GLP practices
  • Manage the sample flow through the lab
  • Maintain the laboratory as well as the testing functions in the operations area
  • Understand the technical specifications of the incoming materials and products produced
  • Be able to complete final product inspections and incoming packaging materials inspection
  • Learn aseptic technique and apply principle daily
  • Maintain lab documentation and submit paperwork promptly
  • Complete and verify retain sample collection request with all documentation
  • Uphold quality conscious and food safe culture
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Education & Training (or Combination of)
  • Food Science, Microbiology, Food Technology or another related field.
  • Food safety and or Quality experience or knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of food safety systems, including ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, SOP, BRC and IFS, etc.
