Job summary

Woodbine Entertainment Group is seeking Food Counter Attendants to join our casual, fixed-term team at Woodbine. You will greet guests, prepare and serve food and beverages, and help maintain inventory and cash handling in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, communicates clearly in English, and can work days, evenings and weekends. Certification in Smart Serve and food handling is required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Availability to work days, evenings and weekends.
• Professional and courteous interaction with customers.
• Understanding of concession food and alcoholic beverage handling and sanitation.
• Basic cash handling and ability to use a cash register.
• Accurate basic math calculations.
• Proficient English communication (spoken and written).

Job Summary

THIS IS A CASUAL FIXED TERM CONTRACT POSITION

We are currently looking for Food Counter Attendants who are fun, customer-focused people that are committed to providing our guests with winning experiences!

This position is extremely important to Woodbine's success. By working together with your team members, you will exceed our guests' expectations each and every time and most importantly, have fun while doing so.

Your main responsibilities will be to prepare and serve great food and flavourful drinks following our high quality standards. You will also be required to maintain supplies and inventory to ensure we can always deliver on our service offerings and provide cash and tendering support when required.

What are we looking for:

• Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends
• Proven ability to deal professionally and courteously with customers
• Through understanding of methods and machinery, techniques and sanitation practices involved with preparation and service of concession food and alcoholic beverages
• Working knowledge of cash register and tendering procedures
• Proven accuracy in performing basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written)
• Basic knowledge of alcoholic beverages
• Working knowledge of Safe Food Handling Procedures and Health and Safety Practices an asset
• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining Smart Serve certification and food handlers certificate

Pay rate: probation wage $17.68 and after probation period $18.68
