Job summary

Walmart Canada in Peterborough, ON is seeking a Food and Consumables Associate to deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining the food and consumables area and assisting with stocking and sale of goods.

You will zone the department, rotate stock, check expiry dates and ensure signage and pricing are correct, while following cold chain and food-handling policies.

The position starts at CAD 17.75 per hour, with opportunities to grow in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Experience in retail or grocery is a plus.

Responsibilities

What you'll do

• 1. Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organization and product is in the correct location
• 2. Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• 3. Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• 4. Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell‑by dates, and expiration dates
• 5. Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
