The Fluent Commerce Developer is a specialist responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust and scalable solutions using the Fluent Commerce platform, primarily focusing on Order Management System (OMS) and Distributed Order Management (DOM) functionalities. This role involves customizing and extending the platform to meet specific business requirements, integrating with various e‑commerce systems, and ensuring seamless order orchestration from capture to fulfillment. The developer will work across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver efficient and innovative e‑commerce solutions.
Design, develop, and implement custom logic, workflows, and extensions within the Fluent Commerce platform (Fluent Order Management). Utilize Fluent Commerce's APIs and SDKs to build tailored solutions for order orchestration, inventory management, fulfillment, and returns. Configure and extend Fluent Commerce features such as routing rules, fulfillment locations, payment integrations, and customer service tools. Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code following best practices and Fluent Commerce architectural guidelines.
Develop and manage integrations between Fluent Commerce and other critical e‑commerce systems, including e‑commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud), ERPs, WMS, payment gateways, and shipping carriers. Utilize RESTful APIs, webhooks, and messaging queues for real‑time and batch data synchronization. Ensure secure, reliable, and scalable data exchange across the integrated landscape.
Participate in technical design discussions, contributing to architectural decisions and solution planning for Fluent Commerce implementations. Translate business requirements and functional specifications into detailed technical designs within the Fluent Commerce ecosystem. Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, performant, and aligned with overall enterprise architecture and e‑commerce strategy.
Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) for Fluent Commerce solutions. Identify, troubleshoot, and debug software defects and performance issues within the Fluent Commerce environment and related integrations.
Collaborate effectively with solutions architects, business analysts, project managers, QA engineers, and other development teams. Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to development standards.
Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing Fluent Commerce implementations, including bug fixes, performance tuning, and minor enhancements. Stay current with new Fluent Commerce releases, features, and e‑commerce industry trends to continuously improve development practices.
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in software development, with at least 1-2 years specifically focused on the Fluent Commerce platform. Proven track record of successfully implementing and integrating Fluent Commerce OMS/DOM solutions. Strong understanding of e‑commerce business processes, particularly in order management, inventory, and fulfillment.
