Salary Range: CAD 120,000 – 165,000 gross/year
A senior-level Flight Controls Engineer is sought to design, develop, and validate flight control laws and systems for next‑generation electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
Flight controls are central to platform performance and safety. In this role, you will interface closely with multiple engineering disciplines, balancing complex and sometimes competing requirements to deliver robust, certifiable control systems. Due to the size of the team, this position offers significant scope for professional growth and exposure to adjacent engineering disciplines.
Design flight control architectures, control laws, CONOPS, system requirements, and analytical models
Implement and manage requirements for flight control systems, sensors, and control algorithms
Develop creative and robust verification strategies for complex systems and software
Enhance flight simulator capabilities and environment models
Implement, test, and validate flight control systems and evaluate performance across operating conditions
Collaborate with systems, software, safety, and certification teams
Stay current with advancements in flight control theory and aerospace technologies
Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes to increase safety, efficiency, and reliability
5+ years of experience in flight control laws development
Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics and control theory
Experience in eVTOL, UAV, rotorcraft, or advanced aerospace platforms is highly desirable
High proficiency with modelling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent)
Familiarity with eVTOL certification regulations from TCCA, FAA, and EASA
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
