Job summary

Brock University is seeking Teaching Assistants, Course Coordinators and Lab Demonstrators for the CUPE Local 4207-1 unit. Roles are paid at undergraduate or graduate rates per hour, with rates set to 23.30 CAD for undergraduates and 36.67 CAD for graduates, effective Sept 1, 2026.

Duties follow the Collective Agreement: seminars, grading, exam proctoring, and course administration. A flexible on-campus work arrangement is provided where possible.

Qualifications

• Honours BA or Honours BSc degree.
• B.Ed (P/J, J/I, or I/S) qualification.
• Previous successful classroom teaching experience (K-12).
• Background in curriculum development.
• Successfully completed EDUC 4P27, EDUC 4P28 or EDUC 4P29.

Responsibilities

• Duties include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (seminar prep, student consultation, marking, grading).
• Examination proctoring, attending lectures and office hours.
• Other course administration as required by Article 22 of CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1.
