Job summary

Cargojet is Canada's leading provider of time-sensitive overnight air cargo services and operates across North America with a fleet of all-cargo aircraft. The Fleet Engineer / Technical Writer role supports the M&E team in reviewing Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives and maintaining Task Cards to ensure dispatch and operational efficiency in line with Cargojet's MCM/MPM manuals.

Key duties include assessing SBs/ADs, preparing technical docs, coordinating with QA, planning SB/AD

Qualifications

  • AME M2 license with Transport Canada authorization.
  • Minimum 7 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Familiar with aircraft records and service packages.
  • Experience with SBs/ADs and related documentation is a plus.
  • Proficient with MS Office; CORE documentation system experience is an asset.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide initial assessment for Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives against Cargojet fleet.
  • Assist with cost/benefit analysis for Service Bulletins and other technical information.
  • Disseminate technical information via fleet campaigns and TINS.
  • Prepare, edit and review Maintenance Task cards and TINS.
  • Coordinate with QA to record changes and keep documentation current.
  • Communicate with Duty Managers, MCC, and Maintenance senior management for campaigns, ADs & SBs.
  • Provide technical input to Planning for SB/AD scheduling.
  • Attend and participate in production and team meetings to support Engineering.
  • Assist in aircraft modification programs, special projects, and fleet acquisitions.
  • Be knowledgeable with company and government manuals/documents.
  • Remain current with regulatory training requirements to function in the role.
  • Ensure a clean and safe workplace and compliance with SMS and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Fleet Standards leadership.

Job Summary:

The Fleet Engineer / Technical Writer position is a supporting role within Maintenance & Engineering. The primary responsibility of the person in this position is to support and manage the Service Bulletin & Airworthiness Directive review program, and maintain Cargojet Task Cards, to ensuring that both technical dispatch and operational efficiencies are met in accordance with Cargojet’s MCM / MPM Manual & Technical documentation.

Job Duties & Responsiblities:
  • Provide initial assessment for Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives against Cargojet fleet.
  • Assist with evaluation and preparation of cost/benefit analysis for Service Bulletins and other technical information.
  • To disseminate technical information to staff as required through implementation of fleet campaigns & Technical Information Notices (TINS).
  • Responsible for preparing, editing and reviewing Company Maintenance Task cards, Technical Information Notices (TINS).
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure that all the required documents changes are recorded and current.
  • Communicate with Duty Managers, MCC, and Maintenance senior Management as required for implementation of Fleet campaigns, AD’s & Service Bulletins.
  • To provide technical input to Planning with scheduling of SB & AD packages.
  • Attend and participate in a variety of production and team meetings to support Engineering group.
  • To assist in aircraft modification programs, special projects, and fleet acquisitions.
  • Be knowledgeable with all company and government manuals/documents pertaining to the work.
  • Responsible to remain current with all technical and regulatory training requirements to function in the assigned role
  • Ensure a clean and safe workplace for team members.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and safety / security policies, procedures and standards.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director Fleet Standards or Manager Fleet Standards.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Transport Canada AME M2 License.
  • Minimum 7 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft records and service packages.
  • Knowledge of Cargojet Maintenance Policies and Procedures is considered an asset.
  • Type Rating with experience on B757 and/or B767 or on Transport Category Aircraft considered an asset.
  • Ability to obtain an RAIC and AVOP.
  • Ability to use computers: intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CORE an asset.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and be detail-oriented, able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
