Job summary

Barricades and Signs Ltd is seeking a Traffic Control Person (Flagger) in Winnipeg to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow in work zones. The role includes setting up traffic control zones, adjusting equipment, and responding to emergencies and hazards to protect workers and the public.

The successful candidate will join an operations team, with responsibilities spanning quality, delivery, safety, and responsiveness, and will work a variety of hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules.
• Valid provincial driver’s license and clean driving abstract.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Gives traffic control directions and signals clearly and precisely.
• Conducts traffic control at worksites per training to protect workers and the public.
• Ensures traffic control meets quality, delivery, safety standards.
• Attends health and safety toolbox meetings to discuss site matters.
• Communicates effectively and de-escalates public frustrations.
• Assists with setup/teardown of signs and traffic control equipment.
• Complies with provincial/local traffic control regulations.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
• Available to work varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
