  • Strong technical accounting knowledge particularly in fixed assets and capital accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Review asset additions for accurate classification.

  • Reconcile CIP accounts regularly.
  • Process monthly depreciation and journal entries.
  • Prepare month-end reports for various departments.
  • Support the annual capital budget preparation.
  • Assist with audits as needed.

The Brick is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Fixed Assets Accountant to join our dynamic finance this role youll play a key part in managing the companys capital assets ensuring accuracy compliance and efficiency in all fixed asset processes.

Responsibilities
  • Review asset additions with various departments to ensure accurate classification between capital expenditures and operating costs.
  • Transfer completed projects from construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts to the fixed assets subledger.
  • Reconcile CIP accounts on a regular basis.
  • Process monthly depreciation and related journal entries.
  • Prepare month-end reports and analyses for various departments.
  • Support the preparation of the annual capital budget.
  • Assist with audits and other finance-related projects as needed.
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Oracle Financials is an asset
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge particularly in fixed assets and capital accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and manage priorities under minimal supervision
