Job summary

Kinetic Custom Trailers is seeking a skilled Welder to join our heavy manufacturing team. You will fabricate custom trailer components, ensure weld quality, and maintain production efficiency in a fast-paced shop environment. Responsibilities include MIG, FCAW, and TIG welding, interpreting blueprints, and completing welds to drawings.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years in heavy fabrication, reads blueprints, and can measure within tolerances. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy manufacturing or structural fabrication.
  • Ability to read blueprints, layouts, schematics or work orders.
  • Demonstrated dependability and teamwork in a production setting.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural welding on heavy gauge steel using MIG, FCAW, and TIG processes.
  • Lay out and cut complex subassemblies and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Fit and complete final welds in compliance with codes and procedures.
  • Position pieces with jigs and fixtures using measuring tools.
  • Inspect welds and support quality assurance records.
  • Collaborate with production teams to meet timelines.
  • Adhere to PPE requirements and maintain safety culture.
  • Provide training and cross-training to teammates.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Welder to join our heavy manufacturing team. You will play a key role in fabricating custom trailer components, ensuring weld quality, and maintaining production efficiency in a fast-paced shop environment. You will be responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture products to the drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural welding on heavy gauge steel using MIG, FCAW, and TIG processes.
  • Lay out and cut complex subassemblies and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
  • Fit and complete final welds and/or multi-pass welds in compliance with welding codes and procedures.
  • Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Conduct routine inspection of welds and participate in quality assurance protocols by maintaining complete required records.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to meet project timelines.
  • Understand and comply with all PPE requirements at all times, work safely every day and encourage all team members to do the same
  • Provide training and assistance to other employees as assigned and willing to cross train
Qualifications & Certifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing or structural fabrication environment.
  • Flux or Metal Core welding experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to accurately measure within specified tolerances highly preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders highly preferred.
  • A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal.
  • Basic maintenance of equipment
  • Valid driver’s license (required)
  • Strong Team Player

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with trailer manufacturing or related products is highly desired but not required.
  • Trade school, college, weld experience, or a combination
  • CWB credentials a strong plus (additional compensation may be provided)
