Job summary

Lions Gate Fisheries Ltd. in Delta, BC, is hiring 25 Fish Plant Workers to start immediately. The role involves year-round production with a single morning shift from 7:00 am, Monday to Friday. Duties include cutting, cleaning, trimming, and operating production and packaging equipment.

Benefits include extended health and dental after 90 days, with discretionary bonuses up to $5/hour based on production, performance and safety. Minimum 30 hours weekly, overtime after 8 hours daily.

Qualifications

  • No experience required.
  • Must be able to safely use a sharp knife in a highly repetitive environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and perform duties during full shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a cold, damp, odorous environment.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks throughout a full shift.
  • Must have manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precision cutting and trimming.
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, and kneel as needed to access equipment and product.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, clean, and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing.
  • Scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets, and remove scrap parts using a knife.
  • Cut sections according to specifications and place in containers for weighing.
  • Operate machines to process fish and seafood products.
  • Operate machines to package fish and seafood products.
  • Record production information such as quantity, weight, date, and type of products packaged.
  • Clean work areas and equipment.

Lions Gate Fisheries Ltd. is seeking to hire 25 Fish Plant Workers to start immediately. We operate year-round with no seasonal layoffs.

Please Note: Our work location in Ladner is not directly serviced by public transportation. You will need to have your own transportation to the worksite or be able to walk 20 minutes along River Road from the last bus stop.

Please Note: There is only one shift each day at this facility, which commences at 7:00am, and operates Monday through Friday . There is no evening, night, or weekend shift at this job location.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Benefits:

Extended Health Benefits (including Dental) available after 90 days of employment; Employees are eligible to receive up to an additional 5 dollars per hour in discretionary production, performance and safety bonuses (paid in accordance with company policy)

Hours Per Week:

Minimum of 30 hours per week; up to 40 regular hours per week during peak seasonal periods

Overtime:

Paid after 8 hours per day
