Job summary

TEEMA seeks an Intermediate Accountant in Abbotsford, BC to support the finance team with high-value accounts and robust financial reporting. You will lead AP across multiple entities, manage supplier payments, and work with internal teams to ensure accuracy and controls.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounting experience in industry
  • CPA program enrollment or completion
  • Advanced Excel, pivot tables and data analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
  • Ability to interpret multi-currency units and complex data

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle accounts payable for multiple entities with proper coding and authorization
  • Manage weekly payment cycles for major suppliers (EFTs and wires)
  • Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to resolve discrepancies and contractual issues
  • Oversee inventory reconciliations and month-end reporting for related balance sheet accounts
  • Maintain vendor master data integrity and audit-ready records
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations, accruals and other GL activities
  • Assist Controller with year-end close, audits and analytics projects
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls across the team

Our client, a leader in the agriculture industry, is looking for a detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join their team. Located in Abbotsford, BC, this role is essential in supporting the finance department by managing high-value accounts and contributing to the integrity of the organization’s financial reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership over full-cycle accounts payable for multiple entities, ensuring accurate coding and proper authorization
  • Manage weekly payment cycles for major suppliers, including EFTs and wire transfers
  • Act as a primary liaison with internal departments and critical vendors to resolve complex discrepancies and contractual issues
  • Oversee inventory reconciliations and ensure accurate month-end reporting of related balance sheet accounts
  • Maintain and enhance vendor master data integrity to ensure audit-ready records
  • Perform period-end reconciliations for intercompany accounts, accruals, and other general ledger accounts
  • Support the Controller with year-end close activities, audits, and special analytical projects
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency of the team by identifying opportunities to strengthen internal controls
Qualifications
  • Atleast 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Enrolled in or completed a CPA program, or an equivalent degree in accounting
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP is considered a strong asset
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel (pivot tables and data analysis)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret complex data, including unit conversions and multiple currency units
