Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Finish Grader Operator to join the NXE Rook 1 Project in Northern Saskatchewan.

You will operate Cat 14M/16M graders with GPS machine control to achieve precise elevations, slopes, and final grades that meet design specifications. Responsibilities include performing fine grading for parking lots, roadways, and site development, conducting daily inspections, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating finish graders on civil construction or site development projects.
  • Experience using GPS grade control systems (Topcon, Trimble, Leica, or equivalent).
  • Ability to read and interpret grade plans, blueprints, and site layouts.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and have a valid CSTS 2020 and Ground Disturbance Level 2 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate Cat 14M and 16M graders to meet production and quality targets.
  • Utilize GPS machine control systems to achieve accurate grades and site elevations according to design specifications.
  • Perform fine grading for parking lots, roadways, drainage features, and site development projects.
  • Conduct pre-trip/walk-around inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments.

Description

You are an experienced Finish Grader Operator with a strong background in civil earthworks construction. As part of the Ledcor team on the NXE Rook 1 Project, you will play a key role in fine grading and site preparation for the NXE Uranium Mine Development. You are highly skilled in operating graders equipped with GPS machine control systems to achieve precise elevations, slopes, and final grades that meet project specifications. Safety, quality, and efficiency are your top priorities, and you take pride in delivering a finished product that meets the highest standards.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Safely and efficiently operate Cat 14M and 16M graders to meet production and quality targets
  • Utilize GPS machine control systems to achieve accurate grades and site elevations according to design specifications
  • Perform fine grading for parking lots, roadways, drainage features, and site development projects
  • Conduct pre-trip/walk-around inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities
  • Maintain heavy equipment in good operating condition and report maintenance requirements or concerns promptly
  • Interpret site plans, grade stakes, and digital grade models to ensure work is completed accurately
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, survey crews, and other team members
  • Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with company, client, and legislated safety requirements
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating finish graders on civil construction or site development projects
  • Demonstrated experience using GPS grade control systems (Topcon, Trimble, Leica, or equivalent)
  • Experience performing fine grading for parking lots, roads, commercial developments, or similar infrastructure projects
  • Ability to read and interpret grade plans, blueprints, and site layouts
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid CSTS 2020 certification required
  • Ground Disturbance Level 2 certification
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
Work Conditions
  • 14 days on / 7 days off rotational schedule
