Job Title: Financial Specialist
Job Description

As a Financial Specialist, you will be responsible for managing budgeting and forecasting cycles in collaboration with various business units. You will conduct detailed variance analyses to identify and explain discrepancies between actual and budgeted figures, partner with operational teams to anticipate future spending, and inform strategic planning. Additionally, you will prepare and manage accruals to ensure accurate financial records and deliver timely, insightful financial reports to leadership. Building and maintaining complex financial models using Excel is also an essential part of the role.

Responsibilities
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting cycles in collaboration with business units.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies between actuals and budgeted figures.
  • Partner with operational teams to anticipate future spend and inform strategic planning.
  • Prepare and manage accruals to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Deliver timely and insightful financial reports to leadership.

Work Environment

The position requires a work schedule of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with a one-hour break. Employees are expected to work in the office three days a week, typically with more people present on Wednesdays. However, there is flexibility, and changes may occur based on government guidelines. The team consists of eight members, and the dress code is business casual. This role offers a pension plan through Omers and 100% employer-covered benefits, within a growing organization.
