FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS LEADER

The FP&A Lead is a key member of the Corporate Office Finance team.

Responsibilities
  1. Performance measurement and analysis of business and functional results. The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring the company’s financial and operational results and synthesizing the analysis into actionable steps to improve performance or mitigate risks to future performance.
  2. Treasury and cash management. The corporate treasury function reports into this role and the Leader is responsible for helping manage the company’s working capital and banking relationships.
  3. Commercial transaction support. The Leader will provide commercial transaction support as it relates to business case development and analysis, evaluation of potential M&A deals, acquisitions of equipment and real estate, and contract negotiations.
  4. Knowledge development and ideation on value generating initiatives. The role is responsible for keeping abreast of technical, sector and peer group developments and generating insights and initiatives that add value to the organization.
  5. Provide thought leadership and lend support in the development of business‑intelligence dashboards and develop planning and analytical tools and templates to increase the utility of planning activities within the organization.
  6. Managing the work of a small FP&A team and providing coaching and mentoring to develop and enhance skills and capabilities.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Leads projects in the planning system – planning and financial reporting systems and business process improvement opportunities.
  • Support the company’s ERM and Strategic Planning exercises, both of which are led by other functional leads but which require some input and assistance by the Leader of FP&A.
Key Skills, Experience and Abilities
  • CPA preferred but not required if the candidate has comparable work experience and designations.
  • 10+ year of work experience
  • Knowledge of ASPE or IFRS
  • Prior work experience working with an ERP solution
  • Aptitude for advanced quantitative analysis and detailed modeling skills.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills (writing, presentations and verbal)
  • Construction experience a plus but not required
