As a Financial Planner, you will focus on developing and deepening client relationships by providing high-quality advice and service within the mass affluent market. You are entrepreneurial, leveraging your networks and centers of influence to grow your practice through building long-term relationships. Your clients are your assets, and your goal is to help them meet their financial objectives.

This role offers flexibility to meet clients outside of traditional office hours and within a collective Scotiabank framework that benefits both your clients and your practice.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Business Development: Executing plans to prospect and serve clients, identifying new opportunities, and facilitating investment solutions or referrals.
  2. Client-Centric Solutions: Providing tailored investment advice through a financial planning framework, conducting needs analyses, and maintaining proactive communication.
  3. Community Engagement: Participating in local events, delivering seminars, and building a market profile in your assigned area.
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial planning and investment sales.
  • Current mutual funds certification and adherence to MFDA licensing requirements.
  • Completion of a Personal Financial Planning (PFP®) and/or Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.
  • Strong networking, client acquisition, and interpersonal skills.
  • Goal-oriented, entrepreneurial, and able to work independently and within a team.
  • Knowledge of market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for client meetings.
Benefits:
  • Entrepreneurial culture with career development opportunities.
  • Flexible work environment with the ability to set your own schedule.
  • Compensation based on client base growth and retention.
  • Access to advanced resources, marketing support, and technology.
  • Opportunity to build lasting client relationships through exceptional service.
  • Supportive work culture emphasizing diversity, respect, and inclusion.
