Job summary

Scotiabank is seeking an internship-focused Financial Planner in our Halifax branch network. You will join the branch sales team to help meet deposit and investment sales goals by managing and expanding a client portfolio with existing clients and referrals.

You will conduct in-depth reviews for retirement planning, wealth accumulation, and estate planning, using planning tools to support clients' goals. You’ll deliver trusted financial advice and craft tailored strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial planning and investment sales is preferred.
• Certification as a Mutual Funds Representative or equivalent.
• CIFP/CFP designation or bank recognized equivalent.
• Collaborative, results-driven team culture and regulatory awareness.

Responsibilities

• Establish and deepen investment and primary banking relationships with existing clients and referrals.
• Conduct retirement planning, wealth accumulation, and estate planning reviews using planning tools.
• Provide trusted financial advice and craft personalized financial strategies.
• Foster client engagement, educate clients, and deliver expert guidance.
• Build long-standing relationships and grow an assigned book of customers.
• Leverage technology to enhance client interactions and planning processes.
• Focus on achieving targets while maintaining client satisfaction and growth.
