We have an exciting opportunity to join our Legal team in Perth and are currently looking for aFinancial Crime Compliance Manager to join the team on a 12 month fixed term contract with the possibility to extend.

In this role you will focus on VGW’s second line of defence for financial crime risk oversight, encompassing Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), sanctions compliance, and broader compliance and governance uplift projects.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the development and enhancement of VGW’s financial crime risk management framework, policies, standards and procedures in line with regulatory expectations and best practice.
  • Conducting financial crime risk assessments and monitoring key risk indicators to identify emerging threats and ensure controls remain effective.
  • Providing independent oversight and strategic advice to business stakeholders on AML, CTF, sanctions, and compliance risks across new products and initiatives.
  • Supporting broader compliance uplift projects, including the Third Party Risk Management program and group-wide compliance framework improvements.
What you will bring to the role:
  • Experience in financial crime compliance, AML/CTF and sanctions within highly regulated environments.
  • Proven track record in second-line financial crime advisory, policy development and compliance framework design.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant financial crime legislation, regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience leading compliance uplift or risk management initiatives, ideally including third-party risk management or governance programs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice across legal, product, technology and operational teams.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
