Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in commerce, finance, or business administration.

Overview

DATE : October 2 2025

LOCATION : Toronto ON Finance Department

COMPENSATION : $70,663 - $84,600 annually prorated

To help fulfill its mission LOFT is hiring a Full-time Permanent Financial Analyst.

What You Will Do
  • Reconcile various accounts on a monthly basis, including rental income, deposit information, grant income, accounts receivable, donations, etc.
  • Prepare journal entries for monthly program deposits and other reconciliations; act on necessary items (e.g., contact a partner agency about an outstanding invoice).
  • Prepare recurring journal entries.
  • Open mail with a designated person; create and prepare deposits received at the main office and prepare the journal entry for the deposit.
  • Create invoices based on Memorandums of Understanding with partner agencies; submit invoices and ensure revenues are recorded with appropriate journal entries.
  • Investigate variances by reviewing invoices, journal entries, or maintaining a tracking list of specific funding.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in updating the operating budget or journalizing corrections as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of government reports (annual, semi-annual, quarterly, monthly) as required by grantors.
  • Prepare year-end reports and working paper schedules for external audit purposes.
  • Input corporate budget into the accounting system; ensure integrity of budget data.
  • Assist in preparing reports for annual insurance submissions (liability and property).
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned to build analytical skills and strengthen accounting knowledge.
What You Bring: Must Haves
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in commerce, finance, or business administration.
  • Comfort working in a computerized network environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (especially Excel and Word).
  • Knowledge of basic budgeting and forecasting.
  • Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills.

  • Interest in working within a nonprofit social services environment.
  • Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics and FRX software applications is an asset.
