Job summary

MNP’s External Financial Advisory team in Vancouver seeks a Financial Analyst to support a range of services from bookkeeping to fractional CFO advisory. You will contribute to financial reporting, forecasting, and client advisory work across diverse mid-market clients.

Requires CPA pursuit or intent, a relevant degree, and experience; travel is expected for client visits. Growth-focused culture and comprehensive benefits are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Pursuing CPA designation or intent to pursue CPA.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration.
• 1+ year of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in financial statement modeling and advanced Excel.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, Oracle, or Power BI.
• Willingness to travel for client visits.

Responsibilities

• Financial reporting and analysis: prepare detailed financial reports and provide in-depth analysis of financial data, trends, KPIs, and other critical metrics.
• Business process improvement: assess clients' accounting functions and identify optimization opportunities in processes, reporting, data quality, system tools, and internal controls.
• Financial modelling and forecasting: build dynamic financial models for cash flow forecasting, budgeting, capital raising, and valuations.
• Client relationship management: cultivate strong relationships with clients and accounting teams to deliver advisory services.
• Business development: participate in local networking events and raise awareness of MNP’s services.
• Continuous learning: expand knowledge of MNP’s service offerings by working with diverse clients.

Responsibilities

• Financial reporting and analysis: prepare detailed financial reports and provide in-depth analysis of financial data, trends, key performance indicators (KPIs), and other critical metrics
• Business process improvement: conduct thorough assessments of clients’ accounting functions, identifying opportunities for optimization in processes, reporting, data quality, system tools, and internal controls
• Financial modelling and forecasting: build dynamic financial models for a range of purposes, including cash flow forecasting, budgeting, raising capital, and valuations, enabling clients to make informed financial decisions
• Client relationship management: cultivate strong working relationships with clients, collaborating with accounting and administrative teams to deliver comprehensive advisory services
• Business development: actively participate in local networking events, raise awareness of MNP’s services, and support the growth of new business opportunities.
• Continuous learning: develop your knowledge of MNP’s service offerings and clientele, and expand your expertise by working with different clients across industries.

Skills And Experience

• Currently pursuing, or intending to pursue a CPA designation
• Completion of a degree in finance, accounting, economics or business administration
• 1+ years of relevant accounting experience will be considered an asset
• Familiarity with financial statement modeling, including proficiency in using advanced Excel functions, is considered an asset
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks, Xero), ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) or data analysis tools (Power BI) is considered an asset
• Travel will be required for client visits, including travel by air.

• The annual salary range for this role is $53,000 to $75,000. Individual compensation is commensurate with skill set, relevant experience, and education
