Job summary

Seabird Island Band is seeking a Financial Analyst to support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and full‑cycle accounting. Reporting to the Comptroller, you will analyze data, prepare summaries, and collaborate with leaders across departments in a community‑focused, culturally respectful environment.

Based in Seabird Island Band Office, Agassiz, BC, the role is full‑time and in office, with a commitment to ethical finance and Indigenous initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of progressive financial analysis experience.
• Experience with full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of accounting systems and financial technologies.
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Analyze financial data to support decision-making.
• Prepare financial reports and documentation.
• Conduct reconciliations, cost analysis, and overhead allocations.
• Perform full-cycle accounting for assigned programs or ventures.
• Assist with year-end processes, audits, and financial statement preparation.
• Coordinate financial information for corporate and charitable tax filings.
• Partner with department leaders to monitor budgets and expenditures.
• Collaborate with auditors, funding agencies, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting, and processes.
