Job description
Overview

Hey! You’ve found Klue… Welcome. Klue is a fast-growing, VC-backed SaaS company paving the way in Competitive Enablement. In 2021, Tiger Global and Salesforce Ventures led our $62M Series B funding, and we’ve been growing ever since. We help companies truly understand their market and outmaneuver the competition, and we’re building a category to prove it.

Your role as our Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst plays a key role in keeping our Finance Department, and thus Klue, running smoothly. Our goal is to translate complex financial data into a clear story, providing timely insights that guide our long-term strategy and optimize day-to-day performance. This role helps make that happen. You’ll work closely with the Controller and Senior Accountant to support day-to-day operations that keep our team effective, from owning the accounts payable function to forecasting operating expenses. You’ll also get hands-on exposure to the projects and programs that shape our multi-product future. This is a role for someone who’s eager to learn, proactive, and willing to jump out of your lane. If you are looking to just build Excel models, then stop reading here. We are a startup, and stepping outside of your lane is common and expected. To start, you’ll balance execution with learning, building a solid foundation in the expense side of the finance function. From there you will move into the revenue and SaaS metrics side.

What’s In It for You?

This role is both a learning opportunity and a chance to make an impact. You’ll gain hands-on experience across finance, build confidence in understanding the flow of money through a SaaS company, and help shape our exciting future as we look to leverage our positive momentum within the market. If you excel in this role, there’s room to grow, potentially into an FP&A Manager role.

What You’ll Do
  • Accounts Payable: Own the start-to-finish process for all non-payroll spend. Track expenditures, manage AP inboxes, process credit card transactions, and run our employee spend platform, Float. Keep approvals organized and payments moving efficiently across Float Cards, Bill Pay, Reimbursements, and bank transfers.
  • Expense Forecasting: Maintain operating expense forecasts, models within Drivetrain, ensure prepaid expenses are reflected correctly, and partner with cross-functional teams to forecast new initiatives. Build models that tie spend to usage-based revenue to help manage burn with precision.
  • Month-End Excellence: Drive smooth month-end closes by reconciling expense transactions, exporting, and supporting on time. Manage adjusting entries and working papers for prepaids, PPE amortization, and accruals; perform variance analysis to flag insights and refine forecasts.
  • FP&A & Reporting: Turn numbers into insight. Compile quarterly metrics for board reporting, support SaaS KPI tracking (e.g., CAC and Sales Efficiency), and provide financial commentary to help leadership make informed decisions. Conduct ad-hoc analyses to uncover trends and competitive insights.
What Success Looks Like

You’ll know you’re crushing it when Finance runs smoothly, forecasts are accurate, and your insights directly influence business decisions.

  • Month-end close is completed within 7 business days, with expense areas never a bottleneck.
  • Expense forecasts land within 5% variance of actuals after six months.
  • You’ve built trusted relationships across teams and are seen as a go-to partner.
  • You’re able to cover for teammates when needed, showing strong cross-functional knowledge.
  • You’ve made measurable improvements to processes, possibly building a few from scratch.
What You Bring

Must-Haves:

  • 2+ years of business experience with an accounting or analytics background.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and a solid foundation in business fundamentals, ideally within SaaS.
  • An AI-forward mindset. You experiment with new tools to drive efficiency and insight.
  • Openness and integrity. You communicate mistakes early so the team can learn and adapt quickly.
  • Comfort with context-switching between strategy and execution. A genuine curiosity about SaaS metrics, finance, and how numbers tell the story of the business.
  • A growth mindset and passion for the startup journey where you thrive in ambiguity and love making impact.
  • Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience with SaaS metrics and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with financial planning tools (Drivetrain, Datarails).
  • Experience with accounting systems (QuickBooks, Campfire).
  • CRM experience (Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Bonus points for database or scripting skills (Python, BigQuery).
