CLIC, a leading Canadian financial services co-operative, seeks a Decision Support professional for regular full-time hybrid work in Toronto. The role involves evaluating financial conditions, preparing business cases, and delivering data-driven insights to support management decisions.

You should have at least a 3-year university degree (business/accounting), post-secondary education in business, and 3–4 years of financial experience, with CA/CGA/CMA designation pursued.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates financial condition and analyzes risk/return to develop budgets, forecasts, and multi-year plans.
  • Prepares and analyzes business cases to support decision-making using standard templates.
  • Researches best practices and regulatory environment to inform decisions with internal partners.
  • Recommends short- and long-term solutions with clear presentations using charts and trends.
  • Participates in developing and maintaining departmental processes and procedures.

How you will create impact:
  • Evaluates the business financial condition, providing in-depth analytical assessments. This involves applying insight into the relevant key performance drivers as they evolve to analyze the level of risk and return, under some direction regarding which performance drivers to analyze. Develops budget, forecast, and multi-year plans. While investigating performance results, probes business partners to determine root causes, and maintains focus on identifying ways to improve the financial outlook.
  • Prepares and analyzes business cases using standard templates (e.g. developing figures for cost/benefit analysis) to enhance informed management decision-making.
  • Researches best practices and analyzes competitive, economic, and regulatory environment to identify key issues and advantages. This involves working with internal partners (e.g. marketing, financial peers across the group of companies) to create valid solutions and ensure competitive information is relevant and translated into context for business decisions.
  • Recommends advanced short-term and long-term solutions for improved performance. This is achieved through delivery of effective presentations to business partners, with content tailored to the audience. Employs appropriate tools and visuals (charts, graphs, trends) to illustrate a creative interpretation of high-level information, and articulate feasible alternatives and recommended action.
  • Participates in the development, documentation and maintenance of departmental processes and procedures, including efficiency improvements.

To join our team:
  • Minimum of 3-year university degree, preferably in a business-related discipline.
  • Some post-secondary education specializing in business or accounting.
  • Advanced enrolment in CA/CGA/CMA designation program.
  • 3-4 years financial experience.

  • Detail oriented work that requires a high degree of mental concentration for extended periods of time.
  • Extended work hours may be required.

Expected salary range $60,574 - $100,956

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
