Financial Analyst, Compute Services

Full Time Permanent

Toronto

The Compute & Storage Finance Analyst is responsible for the processing and analysis of all contracts and financials of the Infrastructure Compute and Storage team. This role goes beyond contract analysis by serving as the bridge between Finance / Procurement and the technical delivery organizations (Engineering, Architecture, and SRE). The Analyst ensures that contracts, licensing, and vendor engagements are data-driven, cost-optimized, and aligned with how services are actually built, run, and experienced. The role reports into the Director of Intake and Enablement, Compute Services.

Core Responsibilities :
  • Cost Analysis and Optimization : Analyze cost center spend and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to identify overlapping or redundant services for consolidation. Track license utilization vs entitlements, propose right-sizing or SKU rationalization, and report on contract status, spend, vendor performance, and consolidation opportunities.
  • Vendor and Contract Management : Review and maintain vendor contracts, renewals, and amendments while identifying risks. Coordinate Vendor Assessment Questionnaires (VAQs) with stakeholders in Cyber, Privacy, and Legal. Maintain a comprehensive database of all contracts, ensuring timely renewals, amendments, and terminations.
  • Procurement Workflow Management : Submit, manage, and track procurement workflows such as PIFs, ITPRs, and Contract Intake Forms. Maintain a unified pipeline of requests and proactively flag renewals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Partner with Engineering & Architecture teams for roadmap and utilization insights. Work with SRE to validate service performance and ensure vendor SLA compliance. Liaise with internal departments (e.g., IT teams, finance, procurement) for contract negotiation and fulfillment.
  • Contract Drafting and Negotiation : Assist in drafting, negotiating, and finalizing contracts in collaboration with the legal team, procurement department, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Risk Management : Ensure all contracts comply with relevant regulations and company standards. Conduct risk assessments on contract terms to identify potential technical or financial impacts.
  • Process Improvement : Support continuous improvement in processes, templates, and playbooks for better efficiency in contract management.
  • Reporting : Prepare regular reports on contract status, compliance issues, risk analysis, spend analytics, vendor performance, and consolidation opportunities for senior management.
