Job summary

MPE is seeking a Financial Analyst to join a growing team supporting operations through monthly reporting and accounting cycles. The analyst will provide centralized day-to-day support, analyze project finances, and assist with billing and month-end close.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 1–3 years of experience, strong Excel skills, and solid communication abilities. Experience with Deltek/Vantage Point is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the financial aspects of projects and interpret results; ensure revenue recognition aligns with standards.
• Perform monthly variance analyses between actual results and forecasts/budgets and identify causes.
• Prepare monthly and ad hoc management reports as requested.
• Collaborate with billing to gain visibility into project financial health and support invoicing.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close processes.
• Review and approve expense claims and request corrections when needed.
• Support the Controller with other related tasks.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Analyst will join a growing team focused on supporting operations through monthly reporting and accounting cycles. The candidate will be responsible to provide centralized day to day support, and complete tasks as assigned. This could include:

• Analyze the financial aspects of projects and interpret the results. Ensure that revenue recognition complies with applicable accounting standards.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis between actual results and forecasts/budgets, identifying underlying causes.
• Prepare monthly and ad hoc management reports as requested.
• Collaborate with the billing team to obtain visibility into the financial health of projects.
• Provide support to the billing team, including preparing invoices and / or approving invoices.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close process.
• Review and approve expense claims, making or requesting corrections when necessary.
• Perform any other related tasks assigned by the Controller.
