Job summary

CGIC is seeking an entrepreneurial Financial Advisor to manage its own insurance agency with full support from a well-established company. As an independent contracted Financial Advisor, you will build strong community ties, cultivate client relationships, and help Canadians assess and implement financial solutions.

You will recruit and mentor staff, maintain licences, and adhere to policies and regulatory standards while contributing to sustainable community resilience.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of management experience in the insurance industry or related business.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • You hold a Life licence and a General Insurance licence, with a Mutual Funds licence as an asset.
  • Ontario Only - CFP, CLU, CHFC or accredited Financial Planning Designation.

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting new clients to discuss risk management and financial goals.
  • Cultivating strong community relationships to enhance agency visibility and maximize new business opportunities.
  • Developing and executing business, operational and marketing plans to support sustainability strategies.
  • Recruiting and mentoring employees, and managing your team’s performance to achieve agency goals.
  • Ensuring maintenance of licences, compliance with ethical behaviour and regulations.

How you will create impact:
  • Prospecting new clients to openly discuss risk management and financial goals and conducting reviews with clients to empower them to make informed decisions.
  • Cultivating strong community relationships to enhance agency visibility and maximize new business opportunities to contribute to sales and growth goals.
  • Developing and executing business, operational and marketing plans and supporting sustainability strategies to help Canadian communities become more resilient.
  • Recruiting and selecting talent, coaching and mentoring employees, and managing your team’s performance to facilitate their development and achieve agency goals.
  • Ensuring maintenance of required licences, compliance of ethical behaviour and conformity with corporate policies, industry standards and legal regulations.
To join our team:
  • You have 3-5 years of management experience in the insurance industry or related business experience.
  • You have post-secondary education in a related field.
  • You hold a Life licence and a General Insurance licence, with a Mutual Funds licence as an asset.
  • ON Only - You have completed one of the following professional designations: CFP, CLU, CHFC or accredited Financial Planning Designation.
  • All other prov - You have completed or working toward one of the following professional designations: CFP, CLU, CHFC or accredited Financial Planning Designation

Salary information

Expected salary range $65,562.00 - $109,270.00. This role is eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan for additional compensation with an annual target of 10%+.
